Hi Christine I signed on originally under a different email address, then I moved and I could n't remember my password or anything how can I change my email on my original page so I add or change my pictures. thanks Cheryl
Hi Christine,
I was browsing through the Ultimate Dressage web site and saw your comment there about Canadian horses....it reminded me to get in touch with you again.
I've finally (after much searching) found a horse. She's a Cheval/Friesian cross. She's a big girl - bigger than I was looking for but she is so good and quiet that it seemed like a good fit for my temperament. Her name's Gypsy.
With the exception of her size she is like a Canadian - good strong level back and less knee action (big feet though:-) lol) She's the more Baroque type, I guess. She's a little weak in her hind so we are working on building up her stamina and strength. Sh'e not done much work in the past year except in a thearpeutic program and with beginner riders. Pretty bombproof - if there is such a thing.
I'll post pictures of her when I get them.
Diane
I must say that some of the comments (not yours) on that Ultimate dressage website ticked me off. There's a lot of snobbery out there...
Thanks for the welcome! Glad I was able to join even though I'm not in the New England area and excited that there is a forum for Canadian horse owners. I have two six year old mares and a two year old gelding.
Hi Christine,
Thank you to all of you high tech folks for providing this website which provides such a wealth of information about our horses. It's like being at a horse show without having to leave home. Thank you for your compliment. I enjoy your photos also- beautiful horses
Don't worry about the fair. It seems that a bunch of us were there after all. It was an interesting experience :)
Take care. Hope your dad recovers soon and your horses settle in at their new facility.
Hi Christine, The Ride for the Cure was awsome. Amy Sintros and I had a great time even camping the night before. It was well run, trail was marked well, and tons of voluteers to help us if needed. I'll drop a note if I get down your way. Beth or maybe see you in Topsfield (my home town).
Sounds like a plan. I'll be there all three days, and since I won't have the distraction of my own horse there, I'll be available when others are "otherwise occupied", so I think this will work out well. Also, if anyone needs an extra set of hands, I'm pretty good with a hoofpick, currycomb, and the all-important manure rake and wheelbarrow! I'm really looking forwards to it.
Sorry to hear about your dad, hope things get better for him.
I Think someone I know from Maine is bringing her Fresian down and maybe a friend from NH will join us at the show. I'd love to see Playboy, he must be a year older than Raydar, based on his name. What classes do you plan to show in? Karen
Hi Christine, I got your email and yes I would like to go to the Topsfield show as a spectator as my horse is just turning 4 years this month.
Raydar is in the classifieds, posted Dec 2008. Are you bringing a horse to the show?
Christine --- While I'm not bringing Ruby, since as I told you several months ago, I "don't show", I am planning on attending the Topsfield show. and am looking forward to meeting many fellow Canadian owners. I am also anxious to see Playboy, if he's going to be there, since I am seriously considering breeding Ruby next year, and he's at the top of my list for her. Do let me know if you need some help at the Canadian information booth --- I'm more than willing to help.
Oh, bummer, I'm not going to be home that weekend. My hubby and I are away on a 7 day bike trip in California...I different kind of riding. I will hope to be there next year, it looks like quite the event.
Is this something you normally attend with your horses?
What sort of show is it? I"m just getting this guy (Guy Noir) into shape for some beginner eventing this summer, so he could probably do some easy stuff.
I am going to query the fellow who gave him to me, see if I can trace his lineage. I think he may have come through the New Holland auction.
