Bitting harness is probably an old term. Sorry, my age is showing! It is basically a full harness but without the traces and shaft straps. Used for early driving training. I have located a new nylon harness (complete) for $130 so I may just buy that…
Here is the website for the Premier Rose' Conditioner. http://www.premierequineproducts.com/
It's based in Texas, but there are distributors that you can search for on their website. I'm in Canada, and any contact with the company via the website wasn't accessible to me, so you can imagine the"fun" I had trying to get it. You should have no problem. I pay about three times the price on the website!! At least it lasts a long time. There are only two Canadian distributors, and they are both out west. I bought the bottle of the concentrate, and once it's gone, I don't know if I will go through the expense of trying it again. Eqyss sells a natural detangler that I can get at my local tack shop. I bought the Premier Rose as a detangler. As you can see in my photos, my mare has an abundance of mane and tail!! LOL
The product is silicone free, but there is some sort of oil in it, because it does form a suspension that you have to shake up before using it. It doesn't feel greasy though.
All the best to you in your search! I can understand why you'd like to keep your black horse black :o)
Welcome. You have obviously learned that your discussion topic does not have a reply button. We only have a few horses that stay black all summer and one of them was a stallion. Now that we have gelded him, it will be interesting whether it was just the hormones keeping him black. First, most black Canadians fade in the summer if they are kept outside. It is easier to accept that the Little Iron Horse rusts. It is not permanent and their winter coat is black. There is discussion whether it is due to copper deficiency but I would not fool around with supplements until you discuss it with your vet and a qualified nutritionist. Supplementing with milled flax seed does help and improves coat and hoof quality in general.
I am presently using a product called "Premier Rose Conditioner" on my horse. I use it mainly as a conditioner for her mane and tail (it can be used on a wet or dry horse). It's supposed to darken your horse's coat by 3 shades, or something like that. I don't use it every day, but I think my mare's coat is darker than it was last year (she's bay), and she's outside 24/7. The product is also supposed to encourage tail growth. I don't know if it attracts insects, but when I used it yesterday, I let it dry and then sprayed her with bug spray. Premier Rose doesn't make your tack slippery.
For some reason I don't see a reply section to your black coat question.
I use a fly sheet on him, when we actully do have sun. Its very slippery and cool fabric, the HUG brand so it fits his shape well and I don't use any fly spray except on his stomach and area. Saves $ and helps with the coat.
Yah,the dressage one is nice....especially considering it was from this past weekend.....concussion and all ! Fable has come a long way since I got him.
When you are posting a comment and/starting a discussion...at the top where you see the buttons for B (bold), I (italic), U (underline), etc. The sixth one in that looks like a mini image is how you will upload a photo into your post. Select that button and you will then be prompted to browse the location of the photo stored on your computer. I hope this helps...let me know if you need anything else. Nicki

The Topsfield show is a Friesian Horse show that has Canadian classes and actually they added Morgan classes this year. That is all the Friesian references I am aware of.
