Just had to brag... again!

My daughter got a TB last fall - traded up from her little black mare to a larger horse. Tiki is now at a Pony Club barn, teaching younger Pony Clubbers how to jump and building their confidence. Parker is a 15 year old, 15.2hh OTTB (off the track TB) who loves to run and jump. They're a perfect match!

Unfortunately, Parker pulled both front suspensory ligaments in deep mud this past spring. My daughter was diligent about icing and wrapping his legs, put him on stall rest, then a small sand pad… Continue

Goodbye, Dundee. Rest in peace.

Saturday May 23, 2009
The day started off normally, but the barn called at 8:10am to say that Dundee, my husband's Paint, was down in his stall and thrashing around. We immediately drove to the barn, calling the vet on the way. Dundee had had a substantial seizure and never got up again. The vet was with us for hours, trying everything she could and getting advice from other veterinarians. He didn't have control of his hind end, was blind, and never fully regained consciousness. When he began an… Continue

Road Trip!

Last Sunday I put 500 miles on my truck. I hadn't seen Eperle in over a year, and I really needed to pay a visit, so after emailing Normand Litjens earlier in the week, I left the house at 6:45. Just like those of you in Ontario can't drive anywhere without a stop at Timmy's, my husband can't go anywhere without a stop at Dunkin Donuts, so after that, we headed north.

We took a quick break in Vermont at the King Arthur Baking Company store - I was out of powdered cheddar cheese (there's nothing… Continue

Think Pink!

On June 7th, Marina and I will participate in the Ride for the Cure in Barre, Massachusetts. The 13 mile ride takes place over dirt roads, paved roads, railroad beds and wooded trails. Because I board at a barn with no trail access, this will be good motivation to trailer out for trail riding all spring!

My grandmother and her sister both battled breast cancer. Nana had a double mastectomy at age 97 and died of a heart attack just before her 100th birthday. Her sister, however, died from breast… Continue

A Parelli Clinic Experience

A couple of weekends ago, Marina and I attended a Parelli clinic in Windham, ME, taught by Parelli Professional Kelly Sigler. We had a fabulous time, and I got a lot out of it. Since last February, I've been doing the Parelli home study course and I've been very happy with the progress we've made. However, the opportunity to take a weekend clinic was a chance I couldn't pass up! It enabled me to get another perspective on what our strengths and weaknesses were, and gave us a chance to go somewhe… Continue

It was great that we finally got to meet. Marina is beautiful! I really enjoyed the trail ride. Marshall is pretty laid back, unless the very scary mini starts staring at him over the fence :)

Hi Sue.

I enjoyed meeting you on our trail ride and it was so nice to see Marina. She looks great. I think she's a very pretty horse.

We should do that more often.

Thanks Sue my bum is what is sore I think I bruised my tail bone. I broke my butt!! haha well I will measure Psamira's browband and when you have burgandy in stock then I will order one I usually end up riding western in the winter so I won't have to worry about her being uncomfortable for the next few months. That should give us enough time to get it done. thank you talk to you later Oh you can always call me on my cell which is on my card Jamie

Marina looks beautiful. They do have that stubborn streak, it's making me smile right now thinking of it. I'm with you on collecting them although this one is costing me enough right now. I couldn't afford any more.

Hi Sue. Thanks for the welcome. I am very excited about being a part of this community. I have had Missy for 3 years and can't tell you how much I adore her. Unfortunately she just had surgery yesterday for an infection of the bone in her right hind hoof caused from an abscess. Too early to tell but hopefully we will be back on the trails in the Spring.
