Dear Christine,
Family always comes first. Life seems to thow a lot at us at one time and somehow we manage. Wishing your father a speedy recovery.
Patti
Hi Patti-
He looks wonderful- and pretty laid back! What's his name?
Gyna is great, all she needed was a little time to get back to her old routine. I have had her out driving and my daughter has been riding her a bit. She is under a lease to buy contract and will be leaving for her new home in a few weeks.
Let me know how your new boy works out!
Beth
thank you so much for the huge compliment. I do my very best to breed good canadians, good representative of the breed and I dearly love that breed. They are THE BEST...
If you want to update your location so it appears on your profile page...click MY SETTINGS in the upper right underneath your name. You should be able to update the info there...let me know if that works! Thanks, Nicki
I remember Maisie! A true adult now. What height did she top out at? Are you doing any particular disipline with her, or just having fun at home? That's not Maise in tour icon is it?
Back when I was looking for my gelding and then Yoyo I had foolishly had the idea that I really wanted easy keepers, as my last horse years ago was one that I could stuff food into all day long and he had the hardest time gaining weight. So it goes...be careful what you wish for!
The last few summers it has been tough to keep Yo's weight down (as you can see in my little icon). This year she is pregnant and making it easier for me as she is burning up calories just standing there making her baby. What I have found that works well is giving them straw to eat at liberty thoughout the day and night. (If you have a local farmer that has straw with maybe a little grass mixed in, perfect) This keeps them happy as they can graze as it were and not pack on the pounds. I make sure that they get grass hay only, a very small amount, and that they get their Equishine and Fasttrack to assure they aren't missing any nutriments and keep the hind gut happy.
I actually bought grazing halters two years ago, but just couldn't bring myself to use them. Those things look like torture devices. I sure wouldn't want one on me. (: They are quite happy with their current program and are all looking pretty good.
Nice talking to you. Enjoy every day you have with your horses!
Glad that Maisie has a boyfriend now :) Would he be this Peter Pan: FERME L DANNY-BOY PETER-PAN #10594
If so, Peter Pan's Daddy is in this group, owned by Claudine Benoit in VT. My pet sheep (her name is Angel but she answers to 'Baa-Baa', 'Babbers', 'Babs' and 'Lambie', lol) believes herself to be a mare, she lives with my paint and Clyde-cross mares and and copies everything they do, she even runs and bucks with them. She is the apple of my eye. My geldings like to chase her and scare her, the buggers :) When they are on the crossties and can't nip her, she likes to tease them by standing right up their noses where they can't reach her, she is a hoot. She gave my riding partner her 'paw' when asked last week, Jennifer flipped at how smart she is.
Hi Patti - Welcome to NECC! Where are you located, you left your town out when you registered?
Jody has some good posts under the classifieds group...you should check there. I think she just listed a horse for sale VT. What age, gender, discipline, training level, etc. is your friend looking for>?
