MEC - Breed Demo May 1, 2010

Posted on May 2, 2010 at 3:00pm 3 Comments

Bella Cavalli Canadians went to the Myhre Equine Complex - Equine Fair and Kentucky Derby Party yesterday on May 1st. David, my partner and Keaghan, one of my students from the Academy for Equine Sciences who works at our barn three days a week, trailered the two girls down in the afternoon. I was already at the event to participate in the open house for the school.

When we took the girls off the trailer, they were covered in hay from their ride down. Keaghan had worked real hard all… Continue

Growing faster than my canadian!

WOW...I am so excited and amazed at how fast everyone has spread the word and taking a liking to this website. It does stand to show that we should have been doing this all along. We were averaging new members at about three a day, but I think we've already increaed that to something like five a day. I'm certain it will slow down at some point when everyone possible has signed on. In the meantime I wanted to say thank you to everyone who is putting the word out there. Christine did a super job… Continue

Up Late Again!

Posted on May 29, 2008 at 1:00am 0 Comments

I haven't gotten any sleep the past couple of days...because...I've stayed up late every night this week working on this NECC thing. I am so please with the turnout so far and just know that this is going to be great. I appreciate everyone who has signed on and joined the Canadian Horse network and I look forward to the many things we can accomplish together for our own pleasure and for the promotion, preservation and education about our breed.

What's happening at Bella Cavalli… Continue

Hi Nicki - My apologies for not responding sooner, but I just came across the post. Thank you for the warm welcome! I bet it does seem strange to have a Canadien in the South! I was looking for a "made hunter" & tried out many horses all over the East Coast. I wasn't searching for a particular breed, just an experienced field hunter. As luck would have it, our Hunt Master had just put her horse up for sale, as she needed one who was more of a jumper & had already purchased another horse. She let me try him out for a few months & I fell in love with him, as he so enjoys the Hunt & riding with the hounds (we are a drag hunt, so we do not actually chase live fox, just the laid scent). So, after trying out so many horses, I ended up with one where I already boarded. Definitely made for an easy adjustment, as he's been there for over five years! He is such a fun horse & I'm lucky to have found him. All the best, Miriam

Hi Nicki! I went to Rochester and looked for you this past weekend but I think I was too early. One of your students said you would be along later. I hope to get to meet you at another time! We had fun at the festival, then went over to Double G tack and dropped a hundred bucks! I love that place.

Hi Nicki,

Your super close!!! I live in Dover. My Canadian Sport Horse named Buzz although he was born with the name Titan. I'm trying to find out if he is registered although all I have right now is his import papers. I'm been trying to get into the Equine Academy and Myhre's, I'm an equine massage therapist. I got Buzz in Jan 09 to use as a demonstration horse to show people massage and stretching techniques on their own and what to really look for in terms of tight muscles, or "knots" and how to remove them. He went to his first clinic as the demonstration horse in Feb and loved every minute of it. He had 12 people all feeling his muscles standing and poking at all angles and just stood there. It was great! I wasn't sure what to expect with a Canadian as most warmbloods are "hot" but he's just amazing!

Hi Nicki, The agenda looks awesome - much easier to read and keep organized. I can't think of anything that needs to be added, so let me know if it's ok to send the link out to everyone. And how is the best way to send it out? Thanks!

Hi Nicki, thanks for the welcome. and I'm happy to listen and watch everyone grow with there Canadian horses. I don't have a Canadian at this point, but I am looking for one that I can afford, there was an add on Craigslist for weanlings and yearlings at a most affordable price. I am really wanting something that I can ride sooner than latter, I'm in my older 50's and just getting older and getting a young horse will put me in my 60's before I can really ride. I don't plan to show (ever) I just want a nice trail horse so I can enjoy my life with the partner. If anyone knows of a nice (prefer mare) for sale at a reasonable price I would like to know about him/her, I live in GA. so going to see the horse would be a problem, I would need to rely on the owner 100% for truthfulness.

Thanks Dianne

Hi Nicki,
My Canadian is a 13 year old gelding, and his name is Celtic Acres Lalou Fabian. I went to Canada 5 years ago to find a Canadian horse, and I brought him home with me. He is an awesome horse, and I am very happy to have him. I look forward to obtaining information from other Canadian horse owners from your web site. Thanks, Joanne

Hi Nicki, thanks for your warm welcome! I currently have an Arabian mare and a pony. I am looking for a Cheval gelding. I'm hoping your site will help me find the right one.
I live in Ridgefield, CT and have the horses at home in a "paddock paradise" designed situation. (still a work in progress).
