I was extremely disturbed by the tone of this comment. I do not know either of the parties involved, so this is in no way personal. All I know is that someone expressed disappointment in their experience, and in return, her horse and her "training a…

My mare's full name is Canadian Comfort Lou II Ruby, purchased from MJ Proulx at Canadream. I believe MJ still has her full brother, whose name is Canadream Lou II Shardonny. I think Lou II has been gelded, but I know there are numerous other offspr…

Hi Jeanne,
How have you been. How is Ruby doing. I am getting ready to attend Equine Affair again this year and I am looking for a decent hotel closer to the fairground than we had last year. I saw on the EA website advertisement for The Inn Place (formerly Holiday Inn) . Would you recommend that hotel. Do you suggest any other hotel close to the fair ground. Give a big hug to Ruby from me and also to her little brother and BIG sister...lol

Hi Jeanne - it was great to meet you too. Lidia is doing fine now - it was very strange and Karl was worried sick about her - but she's just fine now. Who knows - maybe you're right about that time of the month and back aches :) :) Thanks for your comments on Mystere - she is a good girl and loves all the attention. I'm glad we were able to be at the show and maybe you can convince your friend to look into getting a Canadien and she can join us at the show next year-along with you and your horse!!! They really are nice horses AND affordable too!!!! Keep in touch and I look forward to meeting up with you again!

Hi Jeanne. Yes it was a pleasure to meet you at the show and thanks for stopping by!

Lids trailered home fine. Much to my relief. The way she carried herself late Saturday I wasn't so sure we'd even get her on the trailer.

She was happy to be home and charged off and rolled in the dirt like a demon when I turned her loose. I've kept an eye on her and she appears fine. We took a short lazy bareback ride Monday and she never felt better. She took a couple of "tucky" steps on Tuesday under saddle. She rested yesterday and today she's been fine.

I still don't know what to make of it - could have been a really strong cycle, which is unusual for her but throw some strange stallions in and well, who knows.

Mares aren't without their challenges :)

I'm relieved more than anything else.

Hi Jeanne, You can actually go on the CLRC website and pay with a credit card. I am sure it will be way cheaper that way.

I have a general question for the owners and breeders of Canadiens here in the U.S. How do you handle routine transactions with the membership association? My bank charges a $20 fee to cut a check in Canadian funds, which is a big chunk to be adding on to an annual membership fee that is only $55 (Canadian) to start with. If you need to register young stock, or transfer papers on a regular basis, the transaction costs must really add up. Can transactions be charged, with the credit card company converting the charge to Canadian dollars? Or do people set up small checking accounts with a Canadian bank to handle these transactions? If so, what tax implications are there here? Any responses will be appreciated. Thanks!

You are right you are showing her! That is great. It is all about fun and what makes us happy so keep doing that. I hope you will still come to the show. We will also be planning some other events that may be of some interest to you. I love hunter paces -just a type of trail ride that is split into divisions and judged. Happy holidays!

Oh, how cool! My daughter and I were at MJ's on Easter 3 years ago and she'd just been born! Carolyn had a blast playing in the paddock with the "P's". I have an "M", so she's 6. Very sweet girl who's got an attitude. She's pushy and bossy until I remind her I'm the boss :) Then she's a great partner.
