Ditto! I hope we can organize something for this fall!
How is Noir? Pru is beat! Took her for a long walk today undersaddle to get things moving gently...she seems fine. I think her mind is just a little burnt! Sunday she was just like "Get it over with! As fast as possible!"
The attention span needs some work...do they have Ritalin for horses? LOL!
Hi Debby: It was nice to meet you Sunday at the show and congratulations on a successful weekend! I'm not sure I'll ever get to that show, I've been such a DQ for the past years that I can't imagine not being alone in the ring. I see you are talking to Karl who I think lives very close to me. Was he at your stall when I met You? I'll have to email him.
Let me know if you ever are in Mass again. Karen
It was great to see you and Noir in Topsfield and you guys really had a stellar weekend! I'm glad you were able to make it.
Lidia was in heat during the show - not the first time - and she kicks when she's in heat. Normally her cycles are very subtle. She'll raise her tail like she's got gas and...no gas. That's the only way I know. But she's had a couple of doozies. Apparently she and her neighbor (and herdmate..) Sammi were having a kicking contest overnight Friday night. Went on for a couple of hours. I'm a little surprised she didn't break a wall.
Saturday morning she wasn't herself and although she performed well during the first couple of classes it looked like she might have hurt herself. By lunchtime Saturday she'd barely move and she was tip toeing on her right hind.
I went over every inch of her. Several times and I couldn't find anything wrong. She even looked at me like what on earth was I doing. She looked like she was collicking but she was otherwise fully operational.
I gave her a couple of bute Saturday afternoon and Saturday evening she flatly refused to even come out of her stall. That had me worried. Lidia's a very "enthusiastic" horse. She goes like a freight train.
Sunday morning she was better and later in the day she trailered fine, we got her home and she rolled like a nut when I turned her loose. Today she was just fine. We even took a lazy bareback spin around her favorite field for 20 minutes or so and she was fine.
My farrier said she might have rolled a tendon and later had it fall back in to place. I'm going to research that.
But Lidia's fine now and I'll keep a close eye on her for a few days and do some research. I'm more relieved than anything else.
All is well for now and it was nice to see you there. Congratulations! You must be thrilled with Noir!
Hi Debbie - Thanks for your message. We all are spread very far apart so much of what we will accomplish will be online or by phone, etc. I'm going to invite you to the Board of Directors group please accept my invitation and then read through and respond to the selecting directors and committees discussion. Adding you on will round out our group to just the right number of folks involved. Even if you only have summer time or a little bit of time to give, it all counts and will go along way towards helping us achieve our goals and follow our mission.
Hi Debby
You found us! This is the new website. It has taken almost four years but I finally found some canadien horse owners with web skills to make a fabulous site! Glad your here. Let's get working on promoting the Topsfield show this year.
Christine
I'm really happy with my Lidia. We'd had a lot of issues along the way. She has a very dominant nature. We've reached an understanding now and we really have the most fun together. She's everything a Canadian Horse should be and of course I think she's just stunning :)
I was a little disappointed to see the Canadian Horses weren't "featured" in the Classic this year but we had the Canadian classes. Hopefully there will be Canadian classes next year. Changing the date kind of threw some people off and there wasn't a real big turnout but we all had a good time.
I really want to see NECC promote an all Canadian show or two maybe next year. Hopefully we'll all talk more about that over the winter.
