Hi Cyndi, I am selling the Immunocal now as it is sooooooo good. You do feed 1 packet a day for 3 days, once a month. In my "test" horses, we are on day 15 and still no insects bothering them. My direct email is chevalmark@gmail.com.
Thanks, Cyndi. I think I have seen some of their other products. May give this a try. My husband jokes that we need to build a huge dome over our 20 acre hayfield so we can make hay without threat of rain (we had 27 days of rain in June!). Anyways, maybe that new dome will protect the boys' black coats too. Ha-ha.
Hi Cyndi, it sounds like you definitely have her with the right trainer; you must be thrilled! The horsanalities aren't always easy to figure out - I've charted Marina a couple of times, because things do change a bit, over time. She's definitely an LBI, although starting to become more extroverted.
I like the say Kathy and Jason are working with both you and Fanny, and helping to prepare you for when they aren't there every minute. Very smart way to do things - and very Parelli! You're very lucky to have them nearby :)
My knees have been holding me back lately, which is very frustrating. I'm currently getting HA injections in my right knee, which will be replaced later this year. The left one has been killing me for about 3 months and I'm getting cortisone in it next Wednesday. Then I'll have them scope it after school gets out in 5 weeks... there's obviously something going on in there that just wasn't terribly obvious in the MRI (and not at all visible in the x-ray). I can only ride at the walk right now, which is better than not riding, but I have to get fixed!
I'm headed to the barn now - Marina's feet are being trimmed today by my first barefoot trimmer - he's back from Arizona and I'm looking forward to having him take over her hoofcare. Gotta run!
Hi Cyndi,
That's great about Fanny! And isen't it awesome when someone gives you recognition for all the hard work you have put into your training with her! Congratulations for that!
Yes It would be great if you could find out a bit about "drivers ed" if your trainers offer it and you feel they are good at what they do. I have always wanted to try driving, and it is something the whole family can enjoy with our horse. And Rev is so docile and smart that I think she would be a fantastic driving horse.
I had been feeding Rev kelp and organic human grade flax since I got her. Not too sure if it helped or not, because she went to the new farm for her lease in August. I have been out to see her several times since then, but to be honest I can't really tell. Maybe when I get her back I can pay closer attention.
Anyways, I should go. Glad to hear you are doing well and Fanny is coming along! Hopefully you will get to enjoy her to the full extent soon!
Talk to you soon,
Beth
Hi Cyndi,
What product are you using in that hair? I found Vetrolin Shine worked fairly well in Eperle's mane and tail, but Rio Vista Coat Shine is what I'm using for Marina. I don't tend to like the gooey conditioners.
If you click on the "see all" button below the picture slide show, you can see the titles of all the photos. There are two pictures of Eperle, who actually belongs to Normand Litjens now, and the other pics are of some of his others. Carolyn wanted to bring the baby home. I wrote about the trip in my blog :)
hey! I dont mind you double posting, LOL! I did lunge her last year with the long driving reins..but it was with a bit..so I will have to try it without the bit. I will write more tomorrow - I just have the winter blues today - and want to go bury my head in the covers. I HATE the winter time!!!!!!
So how old was Fanny when you put her on the bitless? I think I will check out the yahoo group and might start Thunder out on it. Not sure about Nadeen..she likes to throw her head..and I might be using a martindale on her this year!
