New England Cheval Canadien

Laurie Alberts wanted to get a conversation going about our horses and their full names so we can determine any connections. She started by saying this:

Ranch Vic Yacharie Fifie (Fiona)
La Veille Dynamo Mickey

"Hi All, I think it would be nice if people shared the full names of their Canadians so that we could figure out their connections. So I'll start:
Ranch Vic Yacharie Fifie (Fiona) is my mare and she is currently in foal for 2009 to member Claudine Benoit's lovely kind stallion Danny-Boy
Mainguy Harrison Riley is her son (born here in Vermont but Fiona/Fifie was bred in Canada at Mainguy farm) and his father Harrison is son of Danny Boy
La Veille Dynamo Mickey is coming six, a gelding

I look forward to learning about your horses.
Laurie

So your Prince II is half brother to my Mickey via Dynamo -- what a beautiful stallion, eh?

My mare's full name is Ranch L Nava Lidia.

My 11 year old mare is MacDale Dougal-Dan Gina. I'm hoping to breed her in the next year or two; I'm still saving my pennies for that endeavor...

I own Ranch-L Nava Marina, who is half-sister to Karl's Lidia.

Yes I know Marina! She's a lovely horse. I'm kind of partial to chestnuts.

Hi There, My stallion's name is Sheldon Creek Bandit Markese. He was born in Claifornia, sire is Cosyland Remi Bandit, dam is Maple Drive Dylan Honey B. Dam's sire is also out of Cosyland...Cosyland Major Dylan. "Mark" is standing in Olympia, WA. His pics are up. Take a look. His beauty is only matched by his wonderful temperament and huge heart.

Hi Laurie,
Where to start....I have 13 registered Canadians. I might as well start in the order they came to the farm either by purchase or birth. Katee is the oldest at 14 and the youngest is Rune at rising 3.

Poirier XNO Katee - our foundation broodmare and the horse that takes a huge chunk of my heart. - originally from Claude Poirier's farm in Quebec
Her son, the first Canadian born on the farm and now our herd sire -Hawk Hill Bandit Lucan (the poster boy for my page on this site) (born here)
Her daughter, the first filly born on the farm - Hawk Hill Wilfrid Morgana Le Fey
Her son (now a gelding), a full sib to Fey - Hawk Hill Wilfrid Pendragon
Her son (now a gelding) Hawk Hill Duc Rune
Tremcel Dazzler Helza - who came to this farm as a flashy but somewhat skittish 2 year old that has matured into a rock solid, dead quiet mare and a great mom - originally from Marcel Tremblay's farm in Quebec
Her son (now a gelding) -Hawk Hill Bandit Nimbus
Her daughter, Hawk Hill Kamouraska Persefone (growing up to be tall and refined)
Cosyland Wilfrid Lilac - the tallest mare we have and as beautiful as her full sibs including Marie Jo Proulx's J P Casselman Wilfrid Dazzler
Celebrite L Champlain Katou - who had a beautiful filly with our stallion Hawk Hill Lucan Raphaela - Raphy has now moved on to a new home - originally from Pierre Lalonde's farm in Quebec
MD Champlain Koala - aka the Hummer because she is short with a wide wheel base (originally from Daoust farm in Quebec
Her daughter - Hawk Hill Lucan Rhapsody our little pony who is in everyone's pocket if they go in the field.
Beckett's Creek Kamouraska Pax - a tall, great moving great looking gelding. (born at Canadream Farm)

Plus we manage two other stallions - Hill Top Baron Jay and Black Diamond Jay Parcer.

Whew!

You can see them all on our web www.hawkhillfarm.ca It is down temporarily but will be back up soon.
Oh yes, I can't forget Mirage - an Arab/Canadian cross mare.

My mares name is Mainguy Dad Lily. She was born at the Mainguy farm in Quebec and imported as a weanling with her dam, Terio Apollo Edith. Edith was also in foal to Cosco Duc Dad again, so at one time, I had 3 Canadians here on the east end of Long Island. I sold Edith and the '02 filly, Mirabelle, to some nice folks back up in New Hampshire.

Hi Jennifer -

I know who bought Mirabelle...Geoff or Geoff's son or something like that. I almost bought her from him, only I wasn't in the market for a second Canadian and really couldn't afford it. I had wanted to hold off and buy her later...but they had to let her go. I actually recently contacted him recently to get the name of the family they sold her to so I could invite them here....
